Data Protection Policy of Scottish Learning Festival 2022.

We are greatly committed to protecting the personal data of our users and customers. Our Data Privacy Policy complies with the statutory provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018 and in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 and the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union. This Data Protection Policy explains which data are processed on our website and how we use them.

How will we use your data:

 

Your data will only be used for the purpose of the delivery of this event.  Our event management company, Speakeasy Productions will be using the data for the virtual event platform.  The details from the registration will be shared with Education Scotland for the purpose of this event.

Within the portal, all delegates will appear within the Meeting Hub.  Any delegate can request to connect with you and should you accept their request then they will be able to contact you directly and arrange a meeting or live chat for example within the portal.

Special requirements

Education Scotland aims to have an inclusive environment for all attendees, by identifying and removing barriers in our practices. This will help us meet our obligations under the Equality Act 2010. While this section is voluntary to complete, doing so will enable us to better understand the composition of attendees registering for SLF and for us to fully examine our practices.

To join the virtual seminars, you must agree to the online code of conduct below.

 

Respect and Privacy:

  • Recording of the chat pane is not permitted unless explicit permission is requested and granted by the event organiser
  • Audience Audio and video recording of the event is not permitted unless explicit permission is requested and granted by the event organiser and relevant panel members/attendees.
  • Respect panel members’ privacy. It’s great to connect on social media, to continue sharing ideas, support each other and learn from each other. However, please respect event members’ privacy if they do not wish to engage or to be contacted after the webinar.
  • All forms of abuse, bullying, intimidation will not be tolerated during and/or after the event. If you have breached this protocol you will be removed from the event by the organiser and you may not be admitted to any future Education Scotland online events.

Compassionate Communication:

  • Respect each other’s identities, names and pronouns at all times. If unsure of the pronoun someone uses, please ask them or avoid gendered language (e.g. use “they” instead of “he” or “she”)
  • Diversity of opinion is welcome, however, opinion that is intentionally prejudiced, utilises hate speech or specifically targets individuals or groups is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
  • Be inclusive and supportive of those who are less confident or who have communication difficulties so that everyone can contribute.
  • Avoid making assumptions about people’s values, attitudes, behaviours, life experiences and feelings.
  • Turn off your microphone when you are not speaking.
  • You can use the “Hand Up” function to request the opportunity to unmute and speak. The facilitator(s) will invite you to contribute when appropriate, but there may not be enough time for everyone to speak.
  • You can use the chat pane to make a comment, ask a question, post resource links or communicate any technical issues.
  • Listen to and follow the instructions of facilitator(s), including their decision of what is off-topic and who is next to speak and for how long.

Seminars will be recorded to allow for others who cannot attend to view in their own time. If you do not wish to be in the recording please ensure your mic and camera are turned off and you can feed into the discussion via chat pane.
